The airing of the CNN Perspectives installment of the Dalai Lama, "At Home in Exile" on the same day of the ceremony enhanced my appreciation of the Tibetan culture and history, seeing the Dalai Lama(Ocean of Wisdom), in the midst of people underlined the essence of the Tibetan people: compassionate, kind and forgiving. The power he emits is truly incredible, through watching the broadcast, I could feel the love and care he shares with us all; and the deep love and respect people feel for him. This is something that has departed-love-because of humankind's lack of compassion.
Which is precisely why it is especially important to savour the outgoing efforts any significant and historically rooted yet progressively driven group or peoples offer: how can we expect to right the wrongs of the past, after all this is one of our responsibilities as people of the millennium: to embrace justice.(19 October 1998 Tapestry)
To be the home of the Thousand-Armed-Avalokitesvara is an honour, the Birmingham Museum of Art's Asian art collection is one of the nation's finest with over 4,000 pieces and all beautiful. Not only is this a place where one can admire art and be educated as well, it is a place where I have experienced the spiritual over the years,(14 September1998 and 9 November 1998 Tapestry).
